Baptisms

Baptism symbolizes new life in God and entry into the Christian church. The United Church offers baptism to people of all ages, children to adults. Before a child is baptized, parents and any sponsors meet with the minister to help equip them for the child’s Christian nurture. The actual ceremony usually takes place in the context of a Sunday worship service. This introduces the child to the congregation and allows the congregation to pledge its support for the child and his or her parents.
