Nursery- In Need of Volunteers!

The Nursery is not currently staffed on Sundays, if you are interested in volunteering in the nursery please contact Dan!

Note: For those in JK-grade 12, worship begins in the sanctuary. Young people leave the sanctuary after the “Learning with God’s Children” time in our Sunday services.

Children's Worship

After “Learning with God’s Children” in worship, the children go to the Sunday school room, located on second floor. There, worship continues for the children. The children will engage in Biblical stories through games, crafts, song, and prayer. Children’s worship is delivered by a committed and enthusiastic volunteer staff, who choose from a variety of lesson material that make use of drama, games, cooking, science, art, puppets, music, videos, spiritual practices and storytelling. The result is creative and engaging ways of exploring the stories in the Bible.

The Children’s Worship is designed to be one large group with room for break out groups based on interest and age. This allows children to connect with broader peer groups, learn from one another, and provide opportunities for leadership and mentoring.

Youth Quest

YouthQuest is a Sunday gathering in which high school age young people explore scripture and discuss how scripture can apply to their everyday lives. This group meets in the Chapel during regular Sunday School times. All young people are welcome!

Youth Group

High school aged youth meet on selected dates throughout the year to lose themselves in games, build friendships, and serve the community. Weekend retreats, road trips, and other special events happen throughout the year. All young people welcome!

Confirmation

Confirmation is an opportunity for young people to confirm the promises made at their baptisms and to commit for themselves to a life of Christian Faith and Church membership. At Wesley-Knox confirmation classes are held for those in grade 8 and above, from January to May. Sessions are designed by the interest of the confirmands. Confirmands are paired with a faith partner who supports and learns with them throughout each of their journeys. Sessions allow those involved to ask questions, explore their faith, learn about the church and religion while deepening their relationship with God. An information session for the young people and their families is held in late fall and a Confirmation Celebration is held during Sunday worship the following late spring.

For more information on Confirmation please contact Dan Leaver (dan@wesleyknox.com)

Family Connection

Once a month children are to bring their parents to Family Connection, an afternoon of friendly, yet potentially competitive, family games, and a Pizza Dinner.

Other Programs

Intergenerational worship, faith formation and fellowship events, family camp and summer day camps, and the annual Christmas Pageant are also important parts of what we do at Wesley-Knox! Stay informed by reading the weekly newsletter and checking the church calendar regularly.
