The Karen Schuessler Singers Present
“Road to Freedom: The Dream”
Saturday February 25th, 7:30pm
The history of slavery is woven throughout human history. However, probing below the tragic surface of inhumanity and suffering, are also songs and stories of faith, of courage, and of hope. Songs and stories of people who were inspired by the dream of freedom, and who risked all to achieve it.
In Road To Freedom, we pay tribute to the individuals who have carried the dream—who would not let the dream die. For this 30th anniversary edition of the concert first performed in 2005, we will reflect the current renewed awareness of the continuing dream of equality and inclusivity.
It’s a new road for a new time.
Featuring Denise Pelley, Saidat, Steve Holowitz, and band, as well as Shannon and Bryan Prince of the Buxton National Historic Site and Museum. Including inspiring and uplifting music by to help us move forward for a new day.
