Adventure Camp!: Journey To Egypt! July 8-12

Journey back in time to ancient Egypt. Visit Pharaoh’s prison where Joseph is
being held until his special gifts are required. Then follow Joseph on his path from prison to palace as he becomes one of Pharaoh’s most trusted advisors, prevents a disastrous famine and reunites with his family! Visit the Egyptian market each day and learn to make bricks, carve hieroglyphics, mummify an orange, create Egyptian jewelry and much more! This is Wesley-Knox United Church VBS camp at its best! Don’t miss out! This camp includes daily outdoor time at a local park with themed games, activities, slack line and ninja line!

Inventor Camp! July 15-19

Travel back in time to the early 16th century and become an apprentice in the studio of Leonardo Da Vinci! Practice the art of observation in your very own handmade notebook! Learn to sketch with charcoal and paint with water-mixable oil paints. Create magnificent sculptures and design unusual machines and contraptions! And finally, use your new knowledge to collaborate with other campers on an extravagant pageant to be presented to the Duke of Florence! This camp will culminate in an “Extravagant Pageant” for family and friends on Friday July 19!

Puppet Palooza 2: Here We Go Again! July 22-26

Ever wanted to make a Muppet? Ever wanted to be backstage at Aardman Claymation Studios (Wallace and Grommet, Chicken Run) and see how it’s done? Ever seen a hand puppet booth show and wanted to be part of the action? Spend a whole week learning the ins and outs of puppet design and building! Make your own cast of quirky puppet characters and work with others to put on a show! This camp will culminate in a “Puppet Festival” for family and friends on Friday July 26!

Curious Creations: Cookie and Cake decorating! July 29-Aug. 2

Curious Creations is a camp filled with fun, sprinkled with creativity and topped with a grin! Campers will learn the basics of cake and cookie decorating: decorating tools and their uses, making buttercream frosting, piping borders and designs, sculpting with fondant, and creative cake design. Play with your food and create a beautiful masterpiece! Campers take home their edible creations daily!

This is a fun daily drop-in style camp with a new theme each day! Each day the campers will create art, play games, complete a Maker Challenge (STEAM activity) and invent delicious snacks based on the daily theme!

StorySpinners! Aug. 12-16

Have you ever wanted to be able to keep listeners spellbound with your fantastic tales of daring do or unusual adventures? Do you live the kind of life where weird and inexplicable things are always happening? Do you want to know how to make people laugh? Learn the art of storytelling in this creative and unique camp. Explore the ins and outs of oral and visual storytelling
by making Zines, paper theatres, flipbook animations, photo comics, story stones and story bags! Explore oral storytelling techniques that will leave listeners spellbound! Amaze your family and friends with your newfound storytelling prowess! This camp will culminate in a StorySpinners Story Circle and adventurous snacks for family and friends on Friday Aug.16!

Imaginarium: Studio Art Making! Aug 19-23

Go back in time to the Renaissance and become an apprentice at the atelier of a famous artist! Explore drawing, sketching, acrylic painting, watercolour painting, watersoluable oil painting and chalk pastel! Work on collaborative and individual works of art guided by the “Masters”. Recreate some of the greatest masterpieces of all time: the Mona Lisa, Café Terrace at Night, the Waterlilies! Learn to paint a portrait like Picasso or a still life like Cezanne! Move into contemporary art practices with polka dot pumpkins like Yayoi Kusama or try a pop art piece like Andy Warhol! Develop your own creative style and techniques! This camp will culminate in an Art Show with cheese and “wine” (grape juice) for friends and family on Friday Aug. 23.
