Sunday at Wesley-Knox
We gather on Sunday mornings throughout the year at 10:30 am. Our overall worship style is celebratory, and while there is a set order of service, there’s lots of room for innovation! Additional services are offered during Advent and Holy Week.
Some Questions and Answers about Services at Wesley-Knox
Q. How do people dress for Sunday service ?
A. Most people dress as they would when visiting a friend. Some like to wear their “Sunday best”. Some like to come casual. It’s every person’s choice!
Q. What music is used during Sunday service?
A. Wesley-Knox is well-known for the quality of its worship and for its music. Music is eclectic. In services, you may hear classical, gospel, African, contemporary music and more. Most services are led by our 30-voice senior choir and a magnificent three-manual pipe organ, sometimes accompanied by trumpet or timpani. Additional music is often provided by the primary, junior, youth or handbell choirs. Hymns are selected from the United Church’s Voices United hymnbook.
Q. What does Wesley-Knox have for children?
A. Children three and under are cared for in a supervised nursery. Children 4–11 attend the first part of Sunday service. After children’s time with Rev. Tracy, they leave for Sunday School. During summer months, an open Sunday School (all ages together) is provided. Young people 13 and over meet in the Chapel for YouthQuest.
Q. What happens after Sunday service?
A. Many move downstairs to the Wesley-Knox Social Hall to meet and greet friends and have a cup of Fair Trade coffee, tea or juice. It’s a great time to get to know one another!
Q. Do you have parking?
A. The parking lot on the east side of the church accommodates only about 20 cars, but there is lots of on-street parking. On Sunday, many of our regulars park on the street to leave church parking lot places for those who really need them.
Q. Is Wesley-Knox handicap accessible?
A. Yes. Our sanctuary is on the same level as the east side entrance, and this entrance is completely wheelchair accessible. An elevator is available to take people to other levels of the church.
Q. We’ve heard you offer a bus service.
A. We do! About twenty seniors take advantage of this service. There is no charge, but donations towards its maintenance are most appreciated. For more information, contact the church office at the telephone number or e-mail address below.
Q. Where can I find answers to questions not answered here?
A. If you can’t find an answer on this website, please contact our minister, office staff or volunteers by telephoning 519.673.4803 or sending an e-mail here.

Q. Oh, yes. What about the Lord’s Prayer? Is it trespasses? Debts? Or something else?
A. Yes, it does vary from church to church, even within the United Church of Canada! Here’s the form we use…
Our Father who art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory, forever and ever.
Amen.
